Just wanted to update, its been 7 weeks since my surgery and i've lost 44 pounds. Its alot harder than I thought it would be. Making the right choices to eat and drink and the exercise. And for me the hardest thing is taking all the diffrent medicine and vitamins. Everytime I take them I feel sick. But its all been worth it, I feel so much better and look better. I still have about 75 pounds to lose but i know I'll make it and the meds and vitamins will get easier to take. Anyway I hope everyone has a great and blessed holiday season.

Hello to everyone, hope all is well, i just wanted to say I've finally got a date: Oct.14. I'm so excited and scared all at the same time. I was so busy fighting for approval i didn't have time to be afraid. Anyways I hope everyone is doing great and i'm sorry i haven't been around lately, with school starting back everything has been busy, busy, busy! Also I was wandering if anyone can help me with a weight tracker I mean i don't know how to get it onto my profile page.

I got great news today, I finally got approved. The case worker called me on Monday and said that she only needed one more document of my hypertension and that I take med's for it, so I went to the doctor yesterday and got the documentation and faxed it to her and she called me today to say I've been approved!!! I'm not sure what my next step will be but for right now I'm just excited to know I finally got approved.

Just wanted to say if anyone is following my post: I sent my second appeal by fax yesterday(8-9-08). I included more documents for my BMI's and a second psyco eval. Keep your fingers crossed and I will post when I receive an answer.

I have started to get things together for my second appeal and so I have seen Dr. Lilly at North East Psychiatist again. and also i have gotten together more medical records documenting my BMI's which are all 35 or over and so when I get the documents from the second visit with Dr. Lilly I will send it in. Hopefully some time this week. WEveryone please say a prayer and keep your fingers and toes crossed and if anyone has advice on my second appeal please feel free to comment.
First Appeal reason of Denial

I cant believe it but I already received letter today in mail and the reasons this time was my BMI's for 05 and 07 ( which was 34.7 ) and says my psychological assessment does not address her psychological readiness for surgery. I spoke to the analyst that had my case and she said that she recommended it to be approvaled but the director still says denied because of reasons above. She advised me to send in my second appeals more documentation of those 2 yrs and explain that my weigh has been up and down and also I have another appointment monday with Dr Lilly who did my psyco eval the first time and the nurse said he said he would help anyway he could and that he doesnt understand either because he has been doing this for years and never had problems with approvals. Atleast the second appeal with not be with employees of BCBSNC. Everybody wish me luck and I will get things together and fax my second appeal Monday afternoon.

As many of you already know my first appeal was denied. I will have to wait to get a letter of explanation before I know why. If anyone is going through this too I am open to suggestions. I am planning a second appeal. I guess i will just have to keep playing the waiting game. This is very hard and frustrating but it helps to vent with these blogs.
