"I want to thank Dr. Veninga and his staff for working with me for my VGS surgery. I live over 200 miles away (one way) from my surgeon and hospital. They worked with me so I could have all my pre-op testing and exams done locally. Amazing to go the extra mile for me so I would not have to go so many miles. My surgery was 1-6-14 and I have to say it was perfect. Professionally handled with great concern to make sure I was comfortable and well informed. Surgery was at 8 am and I was in my room and wide awake by 4 pm. As a matter of fact I was up, dressed and walking the halls within 30 minutes of being fully awake. The hospital staff was kind and considerate while being encouraging. I did not hurt, only slight discomfort. Day two I was released by 1 pm so I would have plenty of time to make the long trip home. Thanks everyone for doing that for me. I rested on day three but by day four I was up and walking my neighborhood again. I did a mile and a half walk that day (I was doing 3 miles a day before surgery) and by day 7, I am up to 2.5 miles a day. Feeling great! Again, thanks so for treating me well and making sure I was well informed."
