My name is Cheri. I am a 41 year old married mother to 3 children. My husband is a Chief in the US Navy! I have not been over-weight all my life. I started gaining when I was about 18. Food has ALWAYS controlled my life. Even as a young child. It gave me comfort and pleasure. Food helped me thru 2 very abusive marriages...and helped drown the life I led as a single, bi-polar mother. Food was my best friend...and at times...my ONLY friend. It made me feel in charge...but in reality...IT WAS IN CHARGE. I am now on the path to recovery. I am battling the disease called obesity...and just as a alcoholic must admit their problem...I too will admit...
