Salem Hospital

"The Bariatric Weight Loss program at North Shore Medical Center is top notch. The program has pretty vigorous requirements for each patient to achieve prior to the actual surgery, but I feel that this was very beneficial to my success. The staff of the Heart and Wellness program which are located at Union Hospital in Lynn are extremely helpful and eager to help. I rated the quiet level rather poorly since I had complications that required me to spend a couple of nights in Intensive care which was perfectly quite but then they moved me to what they call Step-Up which is a medium level of care area with a a dedicated nurse and technician for a group room of 4 beds in an area of about 900 square feet. The overnight staff talked to each other as well as other visiting staff from the floor all night long and one of the other patients had their television on all night as well so there was no chance of any sleep at all for that night. Fortunately for me it was only a single night in that room after which I was moved to a single room at the end of the floor with a nice view of Salem Harbor and the next couple of nights I slept like a baby. As another reviewer mentioned parking at Salem Hospital is a nightmare as is finding wherever you are trying to find easily so it's not really a good place for your visitors to get easy access to you but the staff is very accommodating to your quest and in fact the private room had a couch that was convertible to a bed which I assume means that a family member could actually stay in the room with you overnight in some cases."

"Very talented and knowledgeable surgeon. He's good at what he does and he knows it and that turns some people off when they meet him since he has some swagger. My thinking is that swagger is fine if you can back it up and he definitely can. His office staff and the staff at Heart And Wellness are top notch as well. They are terrific at explaining and helping you in any way they can. "
