My first Blog - last as a Pre-Op!

Aug 10, 2007

It has been a long, grueling road to get this far. I struggled with  insurance, denials, fruitless appeals, and hopelessness for THREE years. Finally, after a diagnosis of sleep apnea, my bypass was authorized. When Dr B's office called me to tell me, I almost passed out, I was so surprised. I had an adrenalin rush that gave me a day-long headache.

I am ready for this. I am more than ready! I have great role models - and have been able to watch up-close, as my good friends had surgery, and became smaller, healthier, energized people who look and act younger than they ever have before.

I am so excited - my surgery is 4 days from now, and although I know that Iwill be "uncomfortable" and bored (culinarily speaking) for a while, I also know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I will try to post regularly, and share my journey with you.
