In December of 2005 I reached my breaking point and decided to have weight loss surgery. I was 26 and had been heavy my entire life. I'm very lucky and the process was very smooth for me. I found my surgeon, had my consult a week later, was approved in 2-3 days and had my surgery 7 weeks later. It all happened so fast I barely had time to think and for me I believe that was a good thing because I may have talked myself out of the best decision I have ever made in my life. I have had no complications and no problems with any foods since my surgery. I eat like a "normal" person now and that is very important to me because I had this surgery so I wouldn't have to be on a diet for the rest of my life. I am hopeful that I can finally keep the weight off with this amazing tool and the changes I have made to my lifestyle. Since surgery every aspect of my life has changed: I'm happier than I have ever been, single, back in school and out of the career that had been making me miserable. I can't wait to see what's next.
