This is bad....

Jan 19, 2011

Ok, so this blog is to keep a record of all that is happening: good and bad right? So let me go ahead and explain what happened. So, on Saturday Jan 15, 2011 I went to Falcons division game. I KNOW I'm not supposed to be drinking soda, but they didn't have juice at the stadium...just bottled water, soda from the fountain, and beer. I figured that the ice would water down the soda so it wouldn't be so bad. Wrong!! I made it through the game but I didn't take into account that the sugar would have an affect on me since I had only really been drinking sugar-free drinks. Needless to say, I had to stop twice on the way home to use the restroom...horrible diarrhea. So when I got home, everything was fine.

Sunday was ok. No work so I chilled all day on Monday. Drank apple juice all day (I know, I know). I even made some chili and ate a few crawfish with Old Bay seasoning. This was about 6pm. Everything was fine until I got ready for bed. At 10:30 that night, the diarrhea started again...which I still blame the sugary apple juice for. I was ok by 11pm and went to sleep. But at 2am, I woke up to a horrible pain in my upper abdomen. I usually can handle pain pretty well, but this was excruciating and I couldn't stand it. I ended up in the emergency room by 3am and had to suffer for another hour before I could get pain meds. After the xray, they gave me an iv with fluids, a pepcid tablet to take, and some morphine (YES!). There was an immediate change in how I felt after I get the pain medicine. They didn't see anything on the xray, but they called my surgeon and discussed my symptoms with him. They are thinking that I had a gall bladder attack and may need to have it removed. Grrr....

So, I went today for my ultrasound and the technician said that she didn't see anything but my doctor will have the results by Friday. In the mean time, I can't have any seasoned food....and I love seasonings. I got sent home with some anti-nausea medicine and some pain medicine, but hopefully I'll never have this feeling again. We will definitely see what happens.
