I'm currently 46 years old. Married to a wonderful man and have a 22 year old beautiful daughter. I remember being overweight since I was in the 10th grade. There was a time when I lost weight as I was going through a strange time in my life. I never knew that I was thin then! I still thought I was overweight. Crazy how our minds work, huh?
About 7 years ago, I looked into having gastric bypass but chickened out after I read about all the problems that can occur because of the malabsorption. I've done alot more research since then and have met up with a great team at Michigan Bariatric Institute. All my information has been sent in to my insurance(Tricare). Hopefully they'll approve my surgery as it's scheduled on 8/05/09. I'm nervous, scared and excited all at once. I can't wait to be on the losing side!
