Saint Francis

"The staff was extremely responsive, interested in my care, provided pain meds within five minutes, checked to make sure I was warm enough, kept the "hat" empty without being asked. I have been in 4 hospitals in the last 18 months, and this one was head and shoulders above the others."

Arch Miller

"Dr. Miller is very professional, very experienced; I chose him because of his reputation and the fact that he had done reconstructive surgery on others who had lost 200+ lbs. I have had some issues regarding communication with his staff, specifically on insurance, scheduling and what medicines I could take pre-op, but I am completely delighted with the results of my surgery (breast lift/reduction; liposuction of upper arms; excess skin of upper arms will be removed at a later time, with body lift)."

Kathleen Harder

"Dr. Harder takes time with each patient. She has assembled a staff that listens well, responds quickly, and takes an interest in the whole person."

Southcrest Hospital

"This is a new hospital, so the facilities are outstanding. In the 14 months since my stay, they have improved some of the services for overweight. Some problems still exist. For example, they do have plus size wheel chairs - but those wheel chairs won't fit through the cafeteria doors. The only real problem at the hospital is the one that exists everywhere: they don't have enough nurses, and they rotate them around, so even with a bariatric surgery wing, there are nurses who are just no familiar with the surgery."

Luis Gorospe

"After some initial research, I decided to eliminate all physicians who were not members of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons. Then I searched regionally. Dr. Gorospe is within 100 miles of my hometown; he is board-certified; medical professionals in my family told me he was a good surgeon. I also was impressed with the adjectives his patients used. I have found him to have a real interest in the surgery as one which helps patients. He does other types of surgery as well, and was doing this surgery before it became as well-known. I was also impressed that his office staff members had worked for him a long time. I also checked him out with the state medical association. I consider it a plus that he seems to be a very nice man. However, I am not looking for a friend; I am looking for the best qualified, most experienced and most competent person I can find in my area. He does not "sugarcoat" the surgery or its aftermath and the patient support/aftercare system he has put together is impressive. "
