I am finally banded, I showed up at the hospital at 8:00 and was prepped for surgery.My husband was with me all the way. I was taken ito a room and told to remove all my clothing and was given a elephant suit (bariatric dress I would say). They took my vitals and mt Doc came and spoke with me and told me soon it will be my b-day because he was going to transform my life! I then met with the anestesiologist who advised me of what he was going to do. I then was told to go with him, I got up and literally walked to the OR. i said goodbye to my husband and gave him a big kiss!
I was told to lay on the OR table and before I knew it, I was in the recovery room.

It was hard for me to breathe at the beginning, I was a little scared because I didnt know if this was normal (it was!) I then got some relief, I was told that if I sat up after coming out of the surgery then I would have no shoulder pain (its true no pain here) I was then visited by my hubby who said the Surgeon said all went great. I then was taken to a normal room where I stayed untill the next night.

In the morning the xray tech came and got me and took me for my barum swallow (yuck!). My band was great he said, I then went back to my room and was discharged home. I have some pain but am walking and sipping and walking and sipping.

Well I had my pre-op appt with Dr. Reynolds and it was awesome. He just advised me of what to expect the day of surgery and all my instructions were explained step by step.  I am so excited and well he said this was going to be a smooth operation and that I was a great candidate. I now have a appt. with the hospital on the 6th of October at 8 a.m. and this is my final step untill my big surgery date at 9 a.m. October 16. I am looking forward to the new meee and enjoying the adventure of loosing weight and feeling healthy.

Today is just another day, working and waiting for my lap band surgery. I started slowely a low calorie liquid diet since yesterday and well yesterday I accomplished a nice liquid diet and today I did fine untill about 4pm when I got into my car to come home from work and I got so light-headed and sick to my stomack..YUCK it was bad... I then went home and had a nice meal..MEANING FOOD LOL... I ate till I was full and I feel
better because I thought I was going to pass out.  This process is hard but I want to try and keep 1 meal a day with all liquid protein supplements throughout the day.. WE WILL SEE :))))! I am excited and nervous because in 2 wks I have to start a full liquid diet untill surgery and I hope...CROSS MY FINGERS..I will SUCCEED!!!!!!

I will keep posted and hopefully in a wk or so I will be doing better

well I am back again.. just giving a quick update. I am still waiting for my surgery date oct 16 2008. I have been trying to mentally prep myself for this and well each day is another challenge for me.  I have my preop on Sept 29th and hopefully everything goes good. I am a medical receptionist and let me tell you alot of people are not happy for me because I have made this decision to have my lap band.. I dont care some are happy for me and some are upset.. but oh well cant please everyone lol.. I have goals set, I want to be down 50lbs by feb 14,2009 and it is gonna happen!    I am going to enroll in curves for weight loss and I am determined to reach my goal.. Well I am gonna go will be back in a coupe of days for another update..

WELL SAME OLD SAME OLD TODAY. I CALLED MY DR'S OFFICE TO SEE IF THEIR WAS ANYWAY I COULD GET MY SURGERY ANY SOONER BUT AS FOR NOW I HAVE TO STICK WITH OCT 16.. BOO HOO.. I AM PLANNING TO GO FOR PRE-OP IN A COUPLE MORE WEEKS, SO EXCITED BECAUSE I AM ALMOST TO THE POINT I WANT TO PULL MY HAIR OUT ...WAITING IS NOT EASY, NOW I KNOW WHY CHRISTMAS WAS SO HARD FOR ME LOL.LOL.  WELL GOTTA GO TO WORK AND MAKE THE TIME GO BYE FASTER.. I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE FINALLY SOMEWHERE TO WRITE ALL MY THOUGHTS.. HOPEFULLY SOON I WILL POST SOME PICS OF ME BUT FOR NOW I AM TRYING TO UPLOAD SOME BUT HAVE NOT MANAGED TO ACCOMLISH THIS TASK..
