Obesity Help Site   In an continued effort to find the best way to communicate with patient and get information and schedule dates to you, I have decided to try something new.  I have for the last several months been using this program to send out mass emails, but there are many that are not receiving them still.    I have decided to use one of the tools offered by Obesity Help website to post information and schedules for everyone to check out.   Please try this and help me see if this will be a better way to get it out to you all.  I hate it when people are not able to get the information.  The number of patients we now have has made it difficult to find an effective way to reach out..   Please let me know how it works.   Go to www.obesityhelp.com    There are tab at the top, click on the one that says groups.  It will ask for a location and if you type in 77845, mine will come up first.  It is named Living, Laughing and Loving Life.  Click on there and it will take you to the site.  Click on events and it will show all support group meeting and times for the month.  I will continue to play with it as time allows and there are many many things we can do with it.   Hope this works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   See you all soon.   Stef 



Lecture Schedule   February 12  St Joseph's Rehab Quilter's Cafe 6:00 pm February 3 The Physicians Centre Suite 220 6:00 pm February 17 The Physicians Centre Suite 220 6:00 pm   If you have a friend or family member that is interested in WLS, please have them attend one of the lectures to hear more and be able to ask questions.  At the last lecture it was amazing at the number of you that were there with a friend or family member.  You have inspired them to seek help with their battle with obesity after seeing your success.  What role models you have been.   
 

Tomorrow will be my 6 year bandanniversary.  Sometimes it seems like an eternity ago that I was 33 years old, 240 pounds and truly miserable.  I was carrying an extra 100 pounds on my body, and my struggle with obesity had affected me physically, emotionally, mentally and emotionally.  I wanted nothing more than to get my life and health back, be able to do the things I wanted to do, live to see my kids grow up, be able to do things with them, and finally feel good about myself.

My first year I lost 85 pounds, and thought that I would be completely happy if I never lost another pound.  

Luckily for me after some major changes in my personal life, I went back to my career as a nurse.  I became a coordinator for a new bariatric program at a hospital.  It was truly my calling...  I then went to work with that surgeon assisting in surgery, and doing patient education and support group leading.  What a way to spend your time, helping others realize their dreams of better health and happiness achieved through weight loss surgery.  

Tomorrow I will be reflecting on my surgery date and all that it has afforded me in life.  I know I wouldn't take 100 years obese for the last 6 years.  I hope that each and everyone who has the desire to overcome their battle with obesity, finds a way to obtain it.  It is truly priceless, and I would not take a million dollars for the journey.
