I had to make a semi emergency appt with Doc today to check one of my staples, it was hurting oh so badly. And I weighed in while I was there!!! TWENTY POUNDS GONE FOREVER. I couldn't be happier with my decision to have this surgery. Every day I feel better, and now that the stupid staple isn't pulling, I'm not in major pain either! I haven't taken pain med for three days, except one dose today to get through them pulling out the staples, which turned out to be nothing, but I was prepared! Words can't express how happy I am that I had this surgery. I am tearing up. Today's journal page is simply my weight, and 20 lbs gone, with fantastical coloring around it, haha.

I am now 5 days postop. I never thought this day would come. I thought somehow, somewhere, I would get a denial and not be able to have surgery, but, I've had good luck. My pain level is down today, and energy level is somewhat up. I have to really listen to my body and what I'm up for but I am doing ok. The worst part is taking my psych meds crushed. Man they taste awful and make me gag. I am going down on and quitting one med, and hence have not been sleeping as well, but it is the opinion of my psych that the med was one of the reasons my preop diet didn't do so hot. So I will eventually figure out how to sleep through the night. I might even try my own bed tonight. I constantly feel like i have a cramp under the bottom edge of my ribcage, but I'm sure it will go away with time.
