"Dr. Herzog was very understanding. His exact words were, "Don't be scared, you made a decision and now you'll be here to watch your little girl grow. I can't wait to see you come in here 100lbs later, full of life." He is a very genuine person and extremely supportive. He knows exactly what to do, how to do it and ensure success. I am glad I chose him as my Primary Care Physician. I had another Dr. previously. ;o( Dr. Cedrice Davis and she "CLAIMED" to be supportive of the idea of surgery but when it came down to it, she wouldn't write the medical neccessity letter. I feel like she dooped me for the insurance money. I told her from the jump that I wanted to have bariatric surgery and she said she would agree with it seeing as though I exhausted all of my resources. But I needed to have a full physical before she would write the letter. Well, after the physical she "Cleared" me for surgery. But when she gave me my medical clearance letter, it was less than a paragraph long. It didn't have my height, weight, BMI....NOTHING!!!! Then when I gave her the samples of what the letter needed to say for the insurance company to accept, she told me,"Well....this is how I write my letters and that is why I don't write these kinds of letter because they want you to say things that aren't true, I'll think about it because this was YOUR choice." and was unwilling to rewrite the letter. I see why she's only been in practice for 10 years. She doesn't have any obese patients. I asked her how many does she treat for morbid obesity and she had the nerve to say, "Well some of my patients need to lose a few pounds." And she's tooth pick skinny. So needless to say, I called my surgeon's office and asked one of their nurses for the name of a good Primary Care Physician that has experience with treating bariatric patients and I was lead to Dr. Herzog. With that being said, I should be having my surgery in September!!! "
