My name is Stacey I am 35 years old and will be turning 36 this September 2007.
I have four children, 2 boys and 2 girls also 2 granddaughters and I want to be around
to see them all graduate.I have gotten threw all my appts. the psch eval, dietician, physical
therapist, so I am getting really anxious now! I currently weigh 315 pounds and I hate every
pound of it.I have tried everything under the sun to no avail.I have alot of health problems due
to my weight. My doctor tells me I am borderline diabetic and if I keep going at the rate I am I
will be diabetic for sure. I have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, severe
knee pain, severe back pain,COPD,asthma, etc. I have a really hard time breathing with all the
extra weight.so as you can see I am a walking disaster right now. I am trying really hard to keep
everything under control, so you see these are the reasons for me that make me want the bypass
surgery. I will be having the open RNY. I have done alot of research on this procedure and this is
the best route I feel for me. This site and all you amazing people have eased my fears alot on many
issues, it is really nice to be able to read others stories. So I want to thank everyone for the support.

June 20th.
Today I met Dr. Clough, he seemed very proffesional and very nice I liked him instantly, he was right
to the point with all my question he didn't beat around the bush he just told it like it is. And I respect that
in people. Now I am waiting to see if Maine care is going to pay for my surgery. They said they usually
hear back from them within a couple of weeks so thats not too bad I guess I will feel so much better
when everything is set. I go for bloodwork on my levels, and also an ultrasound on my gallbladder.
It is all on the same day so that really makes life alot easier. EMMC is a very large hospital, but it is very
clean and sterile and the people thee are very pleasant so far. I have visited a few hospitals that weren't
so clean andthe staff wasn't so nice so this makes me happy. My PCP put me on a few new meds and they
really seem to make me tired I think I am going to lie down for awhile will post later.
