5 1/2 Months Post-Op RNY

Sep 18, 2012

Hey guys, just wanted to do a quick update since its been a while since I last posted. Ok so I'm 5 1/2 months post op and I'm down 90lbs!!!! I'm beyond happy and excited, I feel great!! No more getting outta breath going up the stairs or walking around the block, my back pain is almost completely gone and I can now keep up with my almost 3 year old!!! It was a rough recovery for me for a while and honestly if I had to do it again I probably would change a millions things including my surgeon. I haven't seen my surgeon since I was a month out, I have no desire to and his office hasn't even called so whatever. I go to my PCP for my blood work and such and everything ok so far. I have a new job and enrolled in school for medical billing and coding, so Ive been making some moves lol. Well guys, that's about it for now, good luck and well wishes to all of you guys pre-op and post-op!! Muahhhhz!!

Surgery From Hell!!

Apr 13, 2012

Well I had my surgery 4/3/12...I woke up in recovery with a million people swirling around me and in horrible pain. The pain meds werent doing it for me at all!!!! A little part of my pouch wasnt sealed off all the way so i was bleeding internally and lost alot of blood, the surgeon opened me back up early 4/4/12  to fix the leak and I also had to have 2 blood transfusions, I almost died, it was beyond scary. I really wish I would have been more realistic about the complications associated with this surgery. I was in the ICU for a week and still feel blahhh. I woulda never imagined this is how my journey would hae gone. But, im here and im getting better day by day.

Just staring out

Jun 14, 2011

Hi everyone I'm Trina, I'm 28, 5"5 and 292lbs. (That was hard to say) I'm looking into WLS, I've been researching it for about a year now and have decided its the best thing for me. I have an amazing 18 month old son who is SOOOO active and i want to be able to run around with him and not break out in a sweat after 2 minutes ya know. Plus i want to live a healthier life so I'm around alot longer for him and so i can show him how to live a healthy life. My PCP and I have already discussed WLS and she recommended a few surgeons so i have set up an appt. with one of them so far (the only one in my county). I have Horizon NJ Health and medicaid and i thank God that they cover this procedure!!! I know i will have to jump threw a few loops for insurance but i know its worth it in the end. I cant seem to stay off this site lol, there is so much info on here and i love reading everyones stories and cant wait to post my own.
