well I went to the weight loss surgery meeting tonight with the doctor and already knew for sure that I want to move forward with the surgery but especially after speaking with the surgeon.. then found out that my insurance does not cover weight loss surgery AT ALL... for ANY reason. They also will not even cover ANY weight loss assistance, even in the form of doctor supervised diets! Honestly I think this is completely 100% ridiculous! For God's sake, the very same hospital I WORK for offers this bariatric surgery program that they are so freaking proud of but will not cover this help for their own employees?! LAME.So, needless to say I am extremely disappointed. I have no idea what my next step could possibly be. I honestly believe I have tried and failed at every stinking other type of weight loss program. This IS my last resort and most promising help. I am awaiting a phone call from the RN who ran the meeting tonight about the possibility of covering this in the future... but only God knows if they'll ever cover it. I know I cannot afford to pay cash.. *sigh*
ok, now I've vented and I'm not gonna let this dampen my hopes for surgery. My entire life to this point has been a series of one miracle after another... so who's to say another miracle might happen for me with this too?
