Six month check up
May 14, 2012
Six months and 55lb down. MD is very pleased with my progress and all signs of the ulcer seem to be gone. I can tolerate most foods, but still have to avoid fried food, some fish, and pork.
I need to kick up my exercise now. Since the weight is coming off slower now, I need to focus.

Size Medium
Feb 17, 2012
Yes, it gets to me sometimes that I am a slow loser. Today, however, I bought my first size Medium in I can't tell you how long. I had to get some new pajamas because mine were literally falling off.
On the other hand, I was late to work today, because I could not find anything to wear. Everything is too big. Not a bad problem to have, but I have so many clothes and nothing to wear.

Surgery yesterday and already home
Nov 30, 2011
My RNY was yesterday at 3pm. I had a hernia repair and ischemia so a small portion of my intestine was removed. They also nicked my lung. Even with all of that, I was up and walking by 11pm. I itched so bad all night due to the Dilaudid the gave me, and I was miserable even with benadryl. I did figure out that I needed to chill with the PCA and only push when I really needed it. I slept an hour or so at a time since I am evidently sensitive to all narcotics. I was so chatty, the nurses probably hated me. Had my swallow test at 8am and started on my fluids around 10:30. It was definitely hard to get in my fluids, especially when I took naps (I had to catch up.)
One thing that I was really looking for prior to my surgery was an idea of what I would feel like on a scale of 1-10. Well, everyone is different, but I can say that my pain was never higher than a 4-5 (although the itching was a 10.)
It is 7:54 on the night after my surgery and I am totally comfortable at home. I have the feeling that tomorrow is going to suck due to gas pain, but I am trying to walk and move as much as possible. Pain right now is a 2 thanks to oral Lortab. It really only hurts when i breathe deeply. I just feels like I had a really intense ab workout.
I am really looking for some support to keep my positivity since I will be alone during the days until my husband gets off work.
