I'm a 39yr old single mom of a 7yr old girl.  I've been overweight since i got out of High School.  My weight has been steady of about 280lbs.  When I was 29 I lost 100lbs just after my divorce.  At 31 I had my daughter and in the next 2 yrs my weight went back up to 270lbs.  When I was 35 I lost 70lbs on a low carb diet.  That didn't last long at all.  Within a year, I gained all the weight back.  Now, I'm at the heaviest I've ever been at 316lbs.
This yo-yo dieting has to come to an end.  I've been thinking about WLS for the last 5yrs at the least and it's time to make a change.
I have a family history of Diabetes. Grandmother, mom, and sister.  My grandmother had both legs amputated from her knees down and suffered several strokes.
My mother not only being on insulin for Diabetes for many years, also had 3 bouts of cancer before her passing.
My sister, at the age of 31 lost her battle with Diabetes after battling it since the age of 13.
Fortunately, I have been free from Diabetes but as my weight continues to rise, the higher my risk of getting it along with all the other comorbidities morbid obesity brings.  Let me rephrase, I am now considered SUPER morbid obese.
The time has come for me to take action and control of my weight.  I am looking forward to a healthier, lower risk, and fulfilling life.
