Six Weeks Out

Well its been six weeks and a few days.

It's been a roller coaster.  Some days eating goes well, other days not so well.  Still been struggling with protein and water.

Last Friday my mom ended up going to Innovis Hospital for pneumonia.  Spent a lot of time there Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Left her Sunday afternoon with a tummy ache. She was discharged back to the nursing home Monday and the hospital requested she not be sent back there for the same ailment and recommended Hospice.  She is really non-compliant and a difficult patient. 

Ended up at Sanford Hospital Sunday evening through Tuesday noon, I have Kidney Stones that are too large to pass.  They put a stent in and next Tueday I go to have them blasted.  Because of the pain and nausea my eating has been way out of whack this week.

I expect my moms health to continue to deteriorate.  Since she doesnt do well with new caregivers at this time am holding off on Hospice and hoping the CARES from the nursing home will be sufficient - at least for the time being.  The added stress of mom and my kidney stones has turned my tummy into an very uncooperative playmate.
