I began my weight loss journey on March 21st of 2011 in Mexico with Dr. Almanza. Originally, I was scheduled to have gastric bypass, but Dr. Almanza felt I would have better results with the Duodenal Switch. I was quite apprehensive at first seeing as my research had primarily focused on the gastric bypass procedure. But as I was made aware and educated on what exactly the duodenal switch was, the more appealing it became....and so I agreed.
I am very glad I had the surgery. I have good days and I have bad days. I am still learning how and what to eat post op. At times, my eyes are much bigger than my stomach. It's a learning process. I'm still waiting for my brain to catch up to the new "stomach" (or lack there of *giggles*).
