This has been a loooong time coming. My heart has been set on weight loss surgery for about 5 years now. When I heard that my job was changing insurance and that it was going to be BCBS TRS Active Care, I started doing my homework. Once I found out they pay for the weight loss surgery I got to work. My goal was to have surgery during Spring Break, the week of March 14th - 18th of 2011. In November of 2010, I started seeing a nutritionist and finished my 3rd visit on January 11, 2011. On the morning of January 13, 2011, I had my psychological evaluation and that evening my visit with the surgeon, Dr. Turnquest. All my requirements were done as well as a written recommendation letter from my pulmonary doctor. They requested my dietitian records and psych eval to go along with the information I provided. My information was submitted to the insurance on January 17, 2011 and I got my approval on January 25, 2011. By the grace of God, I'm on my way. My surgery is set for February 21, 2011. I want to lose about 175 lbs.
