Happy New Year (2013)!!

Jan 01, 2013

I have been away from this support group for quite sometime. I should have never allowed this to happen as I have gotten comfortable and have all too easily forgotten what I KNOW I have to do to maintain my weight. Even with the RNY, my weight will always be a struggle for me. I think I've simply chosen to avoid dealing with the gradual weight gain, but now is the time to regroup!

I turn 40 this year. 10 years ago I chose to have this surgery at the age of 30 because of what a terrible turn my life had taken: HBP, severely obese, significant sleep apnea, extreme fatigue. I am NOT anywhere near the place I was 10 years ago, but gradually I've been putting on weight and I have to take control and get back to using this great tool that I've been given. I must say, though, that I've done a great job at learning how to "beat" the tool, and I need to forget those bad habits.

Tomorrow I start the 5-day pouch test. I will continue to update my progress on here as I work toward my new goals for 2013. I'd love to be 152 lbs AND participate in a regular exercise routine. I look and feel my best at that weight and also feel my best when I'm active. I do not need to get down to 139 again and won't.

Current weight: ~182 lbs.

I look forward to updating this page with positive results!! wink
