I'm coming up on my 1 year anniversary and as I look back.....I can't believe the journey!  I have lost 111 pounds as of today!  I am continually amazed at how much better I feel.  I am walking 1 1/2 miles every morning and it doesn't kill me!  I have been very fortunate because I haven't had any complications....as long as I don't have any sugar or fat.  I don't even miss the sweet stuff.  Thank God for Splenda!  Thank God for this board and the support, recipes and fellowship!

I had my 6 month appointment on 3/14/08.  I've lost a total of 71 pounds and another 4" on my waist....that's a total of 10" on my waist.  I've gone from a 26/28 to a size 18!  My journey has been amazing!  I can't believe how much better I feel.  I have so much more energy!  One thing this surgery has done is give me incentive to stop smoking.  I've been smoke free since September 2007 and I'm feeling so much better because of it!!

I stopped in at my PCP and got weighed.  I've lost 26 pounds since my surgery!

I went to see Dr. Cacucci and the Dietician on Monday, the 15th.  In less than a week, I've lost 10 pounds!  They said it looked like everything was ok and I was doing what I was supposed to do.  I do have ketosis and have to drink some cranberry or grape juice 3 times a day.  Am still a little slow getting around.  I'm hoping that will get better too!

I had my surgery on the 9th and was home on the 11th.  Everything went really well....St. V's is great.  The nurses there are wonderful!  I was one of the lucky ones....no problems with eating!  Now that I'm at home, it is hard to get vitamins, calcium & protein in.  If you can, get liquid vitamins and calcium!  They are much easier to take!  
Today I see the dietician and Dr. C.  It will be interesting to see how much I've lost.

Well, the big day is almost here.  I have to be at St. V's tomorrrow at 7:30 for my surgery at 10.  I'm excited and feel like I'm 10 again and tomorrow is Christmas!  I've got all my vitamins and calcium, along with the stuff for my protein drinks.  I figure I'll be back at Walmart by Friday, since I'm addicted to the place!  If only I had bought stock in it when my oldest was born 17 years ago....I'd be RICH!!!

I have less than 2 weeks til surgery!  October 1 & 2nd, I will be doing my Nut class and Pre-op testing.  Time is starting to fly.  I am totally caffiene free now and am only drinking water.  But, boy, I could use a Diet Coke!!

I don't know which is worse....waiting on a surgery date or getting a surgery date and waiting for it to come!  I find myself depressed, anxious, nervous and downright scary sometimes.  It seems like I don't have any "get up and go".  Could be because I stopped smoking and have started cutting down on caffiene.  This past week, my son has been home after having surgery on his nose.  That has helped keep me busy.  He goes back to school tomorrow, so I'll probably be lost!
