Funny and yet sorta sad...

So yesterday I had my doctor's appointment to discuss with him getting a referral to the Bariatric Clinic.  I explained to him what I was looking for and he said, "Shelly, the BMI minimum is 40" 

I replied, "I am aware of that.  I am over that"

Doctor looked puzzled and goes, "I dont think so".  I teasingly said, "Doc, are you calling me skinny??"  He hastily said, "Oh no!"  I look at him and go, "Doc, are you calling me Fat??"

He looked sheepish and said.. "I am pretty much trapped now, arent I?"

So I just laughed and told him I was teasing him.  The nurse weighed and measured me and sure enough.. over 40 BMI.  How sad was it that I was happy that I was morbidly obese?  I cant stand that term but for lack of a better one, I guess that will have to be it. 

On the bright side, my doctor was well aware of the clinic, has in the past referred patients of his there, and they have had excellent results. 

Now to just wait the 5-8 months before I get called.. blech!
