hi Sandra: I am just 3 1/2 months out from open rny surgery. I can tell you that every body is different and every emotional state is different. I had only 2 thought after my surgery in the waiting room. 1. I have no appitite and 2. My brain seems clearer than it ever has my entire life. now I am living my new exciting life and am so happy.I tell people I am just a happier and fun Sheryl. I am enjoyable to be a round now and I love it.I have lost 77 lbs and 5 cloathing sizes already and feel like a million bucks. I am doing things I could only dream of for the last 10 years. walking, bathing myself,playing with my nieces and nefews,shopping with friends and enjoying it now,I enjoy jewelry, movies, concerts and attending college. My life is just fantastic.I lost 70 lbs before surgery so I have lost a total of 147 lbs since february this year already and 9 cloathing sizes.I went from a size 10x to a 2x and 1x size now. I began at 516 lbs and now am 377. dont worry about it you will do just fine too. Sheryl OPEN RnY July 22, 2002 516/453/377/160

Hang in there Sandra! The best is yet to come. You will be suprised (as I was) how many men are going to be oogleing you after surgery! (and I am married!) You have a great support group and friends here, any time you need a shoulder to lean on you know where to find it. I know everyting about it is scary, but I would do it again in a heartbeat! Pretty soon, it is going to be you, not your sister that everyone is fawning over, just wait and see! If you want to chat feel free to e-mail me directly.

I wanted to congratulate you on your upcoming surgery!!! I'll bet you're doing a happy dance accompanied by some "NERVES", but don't worry be happy!! You are in my thoughts and prayers, I hope everything goes well and you are up and out and about real soon!!!
