St. Mary's Medical Center

"I feel that my overall hospital stay was realtivly good, the nurses seemed 2 listen 2 me, and I felt like they knew what they were doing. The only thing is though, why do they have 2 come in and wake you up every 2 hours???? That part sucked, but I know that at any hospital I wouldv'e had the same problem."

Jane Royalty

"Dr. Royalty is very nice and caring, just like the rest of the St. Mary's staff!! She is very knowledgeable in her field and takes the time 2 go over any problems that may arise in detail! I am proud 2 have her as my Dr."

Kathleen Ford

"Kathleen is a very nice person 2 talk 2, and is always there if I need her, I can call her anytime or page her day or night! She is very interested in my WLS journey and wants 2 make sure that I am feeling ok through it all! She is even there 2 talk about things that have no bearing on my WLS journey! She is a great person 2 have on myside and 2 talk 2 whenever I need her!"

Corey Filbert

"Corey is an excellent dietitian and is very knowledgeable in her field! She always has time 2 talk about any problems I am having with my diet, even b4 I had WLS. She is a great person in general and goes out of her way 2 help me and answers any questions my husband or I have, no matter how weird or insignificant! I have had a dietitian b4 and she told me 2 write down what I ate and I never say her again, but Corey on the other hand makes it a point 2 check in on my progress at every single appt. I have at the clinic."

Erik Throop

"Dr. Throop was a great surgeon and he did all that he could to make me comfortable and informed!!! I would describe his office staff (Evansville Surgical Associates) as VERY BUSY!!! The lady that I dealt with in billing was very rude to me and I had to be rude right back to her for her to listen to me. After that she was the nicest women, funny how pointing out someone's mistakes makes them nicer! The people at St. Mary's Bariatric Center, on the other hand, are the nicest people in the world!!!! Everyone at that office knows you by name and everything that's going on with you personally!! I have never been to a Dr.'s office were the staff was so friendly and I really appreciate that!!! I used to dread going to the Dr. but now I love it because everyone there is so very nice!!! They go out of their way to be nice and to do whatever you ask of them without so much as a sigh!! Aftercare is a big part of WLS for Dr. Throop. I have appt.s at 10 days, 3 weeks, and 1 month scheduled and then I think it's 3 mos. and 6 mos. I also have to go to monthly support group meetings(they are required). Dr. Throop went over the risks of WLS in grave detail with me and my family and answered any questions that we had. I would rate Dr. Throop, on a 1-10 scale, a 9, he wouldv'e gotten a 10 but when I went in for my 10 day visit I told him about a pain that had not previously been there and he didn't even look at it or ask me any questions and it still hurts and I'm 1 month post-op now!! I think that surgical compliance and bedside manner are both great qualities for a surgeon to have!!!"
