Almost two years out!
Feb 19, 2003
In a little over a month it will be 2 years. It's so hard to believe that the time has passed so quickly. I STILL am surprised every time I see myself in the mirror. I'm one of the most grateful people on the earth!! Thank you God for this procedure.

Down 85 pounds!

Down 85 lbs and can't believe it. Hair loss stopped right on schedule and I couldn't ask for anything better. I only wish my mom could be here to see this. She would have been so pleased.
73 pounds gone forever!
Sep 20, 2001
Lost 73 lbs forever! I feel great and people tell me every day how great I'm looking. I think the hair loss has slowed down. Hopefully if I'm like everyone else, it will stop by the end of this month. I have been using the Bioxin shampoo and taking Biotin and Zinc along with my vitamins every morning.
I have never missed the protein shakes or the vitamins. I'm looking forward to cooler weather so I can wear a sweater for the first time in years!
LOST 60 POUNDS!
Aug 09, 2001
Lost 60 lbs! At almost exactly to the day (3 months after surgery) I started losing hair. I bought some Nioxin shampoo and even though my hair is still coming out, it's not so bad that anyone can really tell. According to all the information, the hair loss will stop in a couple of months. I still feel great and found out that if I put diet Dr. Pepper in ice that I can drink it without a problem! I am so thankful that I got this opportunity for this surgery because it has changed my life!
Down 35 pounds!
May 25, 2001
Now I've lost 35 lbs but I'm still anxious to lose, lose, lose! The doctor told me today that taking zinc can help for hair loss. I'm not to my third month yet and I don't think I'm really losing any hair but I want to do everything I can to prevent it. I need to excersize more but I'm drinking my protein, taking calcium and a multi-vitamin every day without fail. I feel good, still eating anything except sugar and no problems with nausea. The only complaint I think I could possibly have is the difficulty of wearing a bra every day. It hurts where it touches my scar. If you put a bandage over that area it really helps but some days I just don't remember...
