Well this is actually my story as a spouse. I myself am overweight myself, but my husband is going for the surgery. Where to start we are a family of 4 with 2 teen-age boys. I work full time and my husband has not been able to work for several years due to complications of his weight. We have been trying to find a way for my husband to have the surgery for the last 5 years. He has wanted it, but the insurance was not going to pay for it. We had 4 Dr's saying it was life or death for my husband to have this surgery and still they would not help us out. We started with a nutrionist and working some of the weight off. He had lost almost 80 lbs on his own before anything else happened. I prayed for a way to pay for the surgery and in time it came. I was transfered to another company and with that came new insurance. We attended our seminar toghether in Dec of 2008 and started all of the programs that Dr. Gens requries.
We made it through the Psych eval, the Nutrisionist, the Physical therapy and even the weight loss. I am now trying to support the family and him and it is so great. More to follow.
