Hi and thanks for reading my story.

I've never been overweight but not skinny either.  Just right, I'd say.  When I was in my early 20's I found that if I skipped a meal or drank more water that I could easily lose the weight.  I lost 20 lbs and was really looking good.  I met my husband and I got married when I was 26.

Like most married couples, I felt comfortable with him and started to gain weight. At first it was 10 lbs then 20 lbs, etc.  I thought I could skip my meal and drink more water' but this time my body was changing and it wasn't working.  I did Phen Phen, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, etc.  My husband liked going to the gym so I went with him too......... I don't like working out so most times I'd make and excuse not to go.

Jump to 34 years of age..... I had my son.  However throughout all these years I've been gaining and gaining and now that I'm pregnant I am at 232 lbs.  I can't believe it but I say ok it's just the baby.  In the meantime, my husband hasn't been nice to me. He's been telling me I'm fat and he doesn't want to be with me.  I'm an emotional eater so that didn't help.  Long story short - he left me with our 6 month old baby after 8 years of marriage.  My parents were great and they watched my son and I went to the gym 3 times a week.

A couple years after my divorce I met my 2nd husband.  He loves me no matter what I look like!  He is my rock.  He encourages me and supports me.  I'm very lucky to have found such a great loyal husband.  One problem ....... he likes to eat!  After a couple of years, I am back to 232 = that's my pregancy weight!!!!! I don't even have a baby inside me   I yo yo diet for a couple of years but never take it off.

In the meantime, my twin sister Sandy got lapband surgery  a couple of years ago.  Wow she's looking hot now.  She still has some weight to lose but she will look like we did in our 20's soon!  So I talk to her more about her surgery and she introduces me to her surgeon.

As you know, it's hard to get approved for the sleeve - most insurce companies think it is still experimental.  So I have my mind set is that I will get approved for the lap band.  Last month, first try, I got approved for the sleeve.  My husband's insurance is apparently very good. (united Healthcare PPO)    I go in for my surgery on December 15th.  I've started to change my eating habits in preparation for my surgery and guess what?  My hubby is staring to lose weight too.  I'm eating healthier so he is too.  Kids too!

I have my beautiful, spoiled Golden Retriever to go on walks with me and an Eliptical trainer for my workouts.  I think I need to find a walking partner or a personal trainer  but they are expensive and I really don't want to join a gym since I have my eliptical at home.  I know that exercise is key to my losing and toning once I have my surgery.  Do you live near El Segundo/Hawthorne - want to go for a walk or workout?

Well that's my story so far.  My journey will continue on Dec 16th. the day after my surgery!
