3 Months

Feb 12, 2015

Today I hit 250.0lbs. February 5th was my 3 month mark post surgery. 62lbs lost since my 1st visit to the doctors office. It seems like its coming off slow compared to other people, but the doc said I have more muscle than most and I'm losing the way I should. Just keep doing what I'm doing.  I still want to lose 60 more lbs., but that may be to much, but I'd like to find out. Kind of like winning the lottery. Lord  please let me win to prove it won't change me. LOL......

3 Week Mark

Dec 02, 2014

Last Wednesday was my 3 week post anniversary. I finally bought a scale that works and I'm down 20lbs in 21 days. That seems way to fast, but I can't eat more than I am. Protein shakes and yogurt. I did start eat some soft beans some this week tasted great. I tried a scrambled egg and it hurt a little bit. I may have to wait a couple more weeks. I have not had any problems at all though. The diabetes is under control and life is looking pretty good.

11 Days Post Op

Nov 16, 2014

I had my vertical sleeve surgery on 11-5-14.  I did great. Soon as I was awake enough to get up I was walking the halls. The Nurses couldn't believe it when I got to go home on the next day. They all said everyone is in the hospital two three, or four days. I think it was easy for me because really do workout a lot and mental state. So far I haven't had any problems at home. I'm walking two miles a day and eating all my protein shakes like I am supposed to. Following Doctors orders to the letter. Guess I shouldn't say I haven't had any problems. I bought a weight scale at walmart. It was 10lbs off everytime I got on it. Took it back and got another brand. It was broken the same way so I give up. I'll just let the Doctor check my weight when I go see her on Tuesday. I'm really interested to see what she has to say about how soon I can go to step and zumba classes. I can tell my muscles are not as hard as they were. I need the weight room but I know that's probably still awhile to wait.  I'm excited though....

The Last Supper

Oct 31, 2014

Tonight is my last meal. Tomorrow I start the liquid diet and surgery in 5 days. I don't know what I want to eat for my last meal. Maybe seafood or cheesburger. I hope I'm making the right decision. I'm so tired of fighting my weight. I've lost 60 to 80lbs a few times in my life and everytime I do it feels like I'm starving to death even though I know I'm not. Then the weight creeps back on. I hope the surgery helps with the always hungry feeling. I've set some goals. When I start working out again post op I'm joining a rock climbing gym. I have no desire to hang 1000ft off a cliff, but I want to get strong again like I was in my navy days. I'd like to buy a sailboat and go around the world, but it would be better for me physically to hike, climb, and bicycle. Maybe hike to the top of Pikes peek or the back side of EL Capitan in a year.  (BIG DREAMS)

Two More Months

Jul 22, 2014

I'm so tired of the waiting. Why does Insurance make you jump thru so many hoops? Most people have tried many diets, exercises, and have went to the bariatric doctor as a last resort. 2 more months of meeting with a nutritionist then surgery.  Tired of waiting...
