Feb 27 ....I am 36 years old, 5 foot tall and weight 234 lbs. After my six month supervised weight loss and 8 week insurance battle... I AM APPROVED!!!!! I can't wait for my big day!

March 1... I called BCBS and they still haven't mailed my letter. They say the surgeon should have it in 5 days or so. Then surgery is only about 3 weeks away.

March 3.... BCBS mailed the letter 2 days ago. In the next 2 days the surgeon will call me and set me up for nutrician class BEGIN and my preop test. I can't wait.

March 9.... I have a date. 3/20/06. I have completed my last surgeon visit, my written test, my breath test to check for bacteria in the stomach, and completed the Begin Nutrition Program. I am ready. Seven days before surgery is a diet, then 4 days before is soup, sandwich, and salad only, the day before is liquids only. I have done my shopping!

March 11.... Monday is pre-ops. I am 8 full days left, then surgery day. I continue to buy a few things smaller than I am now so I will have them on hand as I need them. I have stocked my kitchen with post of "food", if you can call it food. Ha.

March 13.... I am done with preops. Just waiting til Monday. I have to be there at 5 am for a 7:15 surgery.

march19.... only hours to go.

march 22.... just got home from the hospital. Things went very well and I got out a day early. I have company right now so I will update later but I just wanted to write that everything is great.

march 23... Just got a few minutes to update. Doc says I have to stay walking to avoid blood clots. SO, i have been shopping every goodwill around for clothes for my transition period. Things are still good.

april 9th.. I am 3 weeks post op tomorrow and have lost 25 lbs. The first 5 days were clear liquids, then 5 days of full liquids, now blenderied foods. The first several days of that I wanted some of everything. Now, a week later... food is becoming just food. I don't live to eat anymore. My brain and my pouch are in sink. All is well.

april 13th... down 29 lbs in 3 weeks and 3 days. Feeling great.

april 27th... down 35lbs and still great.

May 6th, down 37 lbs and getting more done in less time each day.

May20th, down 44 lbs. Walking 1.5 to 2 miles per day and working out with weights.

June2nd, down 51 lbs. Walking 1.5 miles 4 times per week, working out with weights for toning 3 times per week for 45 minutes. I am really trying to get back to the basics. I went back to my water jug from the hospital so i can track my ounces and went back to watching the clock with water before and after meals and redid my brain where the protein is 2 ounces at each meal before i eat anything else. That helps the grazing. I stay full like that and don't feel like I am eating too much. I still spend alot of time and money in the grocery store trying out new things like a variety of marinades to make chicken less blah. New food for the week thanks to my healthy eating workmake..... whole wheat wrap with peanut butter inside.

JUNE 20TH, TODAY IS 3 MONTHS, I AM DOWN 60, ONLY 55 LEFT!

July 6th, down 68 lbs.

6 month Postop- I have lost 90 lbs and feel wonderful. only 28 lbs left. I am spending alot of time on bariatriceating.com and developing a new lifestyle.

11/20/06... 99 LBS DOWN.

11/21... 102 LBS DOWN. oNLY 14 LBS LEFT. PRETTY GOOD FOR 8 MONTHS.

3 years later!!!!!  I went from 233 down to 120 and held for a while. During my divorce, I went down to 114 which was way too small. I decided 125 is a good weight for me. I had hit 136 now and backing it down. It's true... 3 years out begins to test and see if you can hold it off. You can gain it back. This is the best tool ever, but it is just a tool. 4/5/09.
