I was notified by my surgeon's office that my insurance company approved me for surgery. Once I schedule some clearance procedures I can call back to get a surgery date. I am so excited but also worried because now I feel there's so much to do and so little time.

On Friday I called Aetna to get a status update on whether or not they received my clinical information to review. Instead of answering my question, the customer service person told me she was not a nurse and could not advise me and that I needed to call my surgeon office. I said, I know you can't advise me, but what do I need to ask them. She said ask whether or not you've been approved. I called the surgeon's office but got the answering service. I'm hoping for the approval, but there's also a slight chance they didn't. And so, I wait for a few more hours.
