Mohamed Ali

"My first impression of Dr. Ali was that he cared about what he does for a living. As a nurse I am around a lot of doctors and Dr. Ali came off as a doctor who cares about his patients. When he came in the room to speak to the group (five patients) he came and sat down with the group instead of standing up and distant while speaking to us and answering our questions. When he did his one on one he did the same thing. Dr. Ali and the other staff cont. to stress that they are a team and each member of their team play an important part in the success of the patient's treatment. They are big on after care and they stress the importance of following the guidelines, so that the surgery was not done in vain. The team explains the risk of surgery many times during the meetings with them. I have been told the risk at least 4 times and I have only been to the clinic twice. I was also sent home with my bypass bible to study because I will have a test at my nutrition class. The team is up front about their treatment and honor their work, but if the patient does not follow the guidelines for the bypass and they gain back the weight the team will not do a revision. "
