Today is my third anniversary of the WLS.
Jan 15, 2007
If I hadn't received an e-mail from OH congratulating me I would not have remembered. I'm thinking that is a good thing. I haven't visited the website for almost a year and am pleasantly surprised by the "new look". I, too, have a NEW LOOK.
I'm doing wonderfully. My current weight is 126. I'm wearing size 4-6 clothing and have finally discovered my favorite brands and shopping places.
My lifestyle has totally changed since Jan. of 2004. I have become very important to myself. My goals are not as long reaching as they used to be. I basically try to take "one day at a time" and am enjoying being more centered in the NOW. I've learned to listen to my body, mind and inner spiritual voices and am thrilled that at age 56, I'm finally feeling peaceful.
I have times when I get into too many carbs and feel the slacks tightening. Usually once a month I weigh and if I've gained more that 4-5 lbs., I do a "protein" maintenance, which involves restricting carb intake, increasing water and only drinking liquid protein or eating on protein. I'm amazed at how my Inner Child "BRAT" fights me and demands the carbs. I actually make myself a "baby bottle" to pamper "BRAT, which is a sports bottle filled with ice cubes and GNC Isopure. Three days of this pampering and I'm back on track for the next month.
Being thin was not the answer to all my problems, as I had always believed. My issues are still the same, but I feel healthier and far less depressed as I work thru most of them.
