Hi Tessa! What a coincidence! I was going through the message board today and saw the question as to "What To Puree?"
I read all the responses, and than came across yours. Without even looking at your profile, I thought to myself. Finally, someone who's doctor feels the same way as mine!! I can't believe what some of the patients are already eating, but I guess the main thing is that it's alright with their doctors.
I had my lap rny on January 10th here in Hawaii.
But guess what! My doctor is also Dr. Paul Cirangle of San Francisco! He comes to Hawaii every 3 or 4 months and does surgery here in Hawaii. Isn't he a great doctor!
I guess you were referring to his diet guide book when you mentioned that you couldn't eat mashed potatoes, refried beans, etc. For one thing, all of those things are high in carbs.
If you notice Dr. Cirangle is really strict about carbs, sugar and taking in enough protein.
I hope that you are making a speedy recovery! Let's keep in touch, it should be fun since we both have the same doctor but live across the ocean from each other!!
Aloha, Pat from Hawaii
