Steady As She Goes...
Aug 11, 2016
Three years, eight months post-op. Have maintained a relatively steady weight (between 173 - 177) for the last 2 or so years. AMAZING! Have had some side issues (gall bladder tried to kill me, lol, and knee replacement due to wear associated with my past life), but have few regrets. I retained a pair of my "old-self's" pants, shorts, and shirts as "trophies" my wife shows friends who refuse to believe I was ever overweight.
Thought it was funny, though, when I went to the bank and actually had to convince them that the person in the driver's license photo (since updated) was me. Bank teller at the drive-through - "This is some fat guy!" Daughter and I busted out laughing, went inside to get the situation corrected. Teller was mortified and was so afraid I had been offended; told her to relax, she made my day!
Good times! :D
100 Pounds Down!
Feb 24, 2013
Surgery 19 November, 2012...as of today (24 February 2013) down 100 pounds - currently 218! This is the LEAST I have weighed since the early-1980s, and I feel GREAT! The one small glitch in the road (dehydration brought on by a bad case of the flu) was handled quickly and efficiently by the staff at Village Surgical/Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Why the dickens didn't I do this SOONER? Buyer's remorse? Not yet - and hopefully never! Do I still "lust" after some of my old eating habits? Sure - but my health and well-being count for far more than a bag of Fritos, a chimichanga, or a Coke.
