My journey started in July '06. After going through my consult with Dr.Kodali there was a list of test that needed to be completed before sending my folder to the Cigna for approval. Lets just say that I finished my final test Dec.27,2006. Thank God for that!!!!
I am writing now because they have submitted my file to Cigna again for approval. I am so ready to the surgery. My sister in law had hers done in August and boy does she look good. I am kinda of jealous because she tried to get to start the journey with her, but no I wanted to procrastinate. She started in Feb.'06 and had her surgery in August '06.
Now it is a waiting game and I am having anxiety attacks. I suffer from arthritis in my knees and I wouldn't wish this constant pain on my worst enemy. I am so tired of hurting. I miss being able to walk pain free.

Good news on today Nuweigh called and said I was approved!!!!!! I am still in shock all I could do was cry when she told me. They submitted my 2nd appeal on March 12 and I was approved on March 30. Now all I have to do is wait for the scheduler to call me regarding my surgery date. I didn't think this day would ever come. Now that it has it doesn't feel real.

Tomorrow is a new beginning for me. I cant lie I am nervous because Im going down a path that I have never seen before. I pray that I come out alright. current weight (309)

I home and the surgery went good. The day of my surgery was scheduled for Thursday 11 a.m.; but I was not rolled into surgery until 2:30 that evening. My husband said that I came out around 8:30. He said I was out...Lets just say that I dont remember anything about that Friday and vagley remember that Sat.. They started trying to get me up to walk that Sat. evening by the Sunday I was moving around much better and I was released to go home Sunday afternoon.

Whooo this is a big adjustment for me . Ive had to sleep on the couch because my bed is so uncomfortable to me. I cant eat or drink anything. I only can take 2 or 3 spoons of food and I am forcing that down. I cant drink my protein shakes they make me gag. Pretty much everything makes me gag. I am having a hard time learning how to eat slowly and in small bites. It seems as if each time I try to eat Im throwing it back up and Lord knows that I dont want to stretch my new stomach.

My six weeks check up. Still not able to really eat anything and I do more than likely its coming back up. Well I have lost around 15lbs(278) since my surgery. He is keeping me of soft foods because I am having keeping it down. He wants to see in 3months.

Today was my nephew wedding and the first day anyone has seen me since my surgery. It was so funny people was just staring at me but trying to act like they wasnt. I received alot of compliments and everyone said I was looking good. I think what I love the most is how my family seems to be so proud of me . Hell I am proud of my self.

My 3 month follow up. Everything is going great. Im losing and I can finally eat food and keep it down. The only thing I miss is eating a good homemade hamburger I have been craving one so bad, but my stomach does not tolerate it. Hopefully one day I will be able to eat them again. current weight (254).

I need to schedule my 6 month post op. Ive noticed that the weight seems to be coming off a little slower now. Iam about 11 lbs from reaching my century mark. I am going to have try my protein drinks again to see If I am able tolerate them because I no that I am not getting enough protein because my hair is shedding and coming out like crazy the one thing that I didnt want to happen.

It has been a while since I have written but I have finally made my century. I am 218 and I didnt think I would ever get there. Now my problem I need to start exercising.
