I started to put weight on when I started school. Thru high school I weighed about 220 lbs. In 1988 I hit 240 lbs and I thought no more. I went on a diet and exercised and was working 50-60 hour work weeks. I got downed to 185 lbs. Then I met my boyfriend and lasted 8 months. I was heartbroken and the weight came on full force. I think the heaviest I got was 380 in 2003 but that was undocumented. I came down with type 2 diabetes and I was on two typed of meds. Then I lost my job and couldn't get them. My Dr told me I had to go on a strict diet. I lost 80 lbs. But I gained part of back over the years until I was back to 368 in January 2014. I figured I had enough so I started dieting again in May doing a food journal. A few weeks later I said enough is enough I was going to have weight loss surgery. I was going to do it in 2012 but I didn't think I could do it money wise. I signed up for the information meeting in May. They called me in June and set up the physical and EKG, sent me for labs. I weighed in at 345.5 lbs. Then I saw the dietician and said I wasn't eating enough and I laughed. I was doing my diet. She said I had to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks, 1700 calories. A high protein and low fat diet. I just kept thinking that was too high and I won't lose weight. For the next two weeks I followed her plan and she approved me for surgery. Then I saw the pysch Dr and the surgeon on July 2. I weighed 334 lbs. So I did lose weight on her diet and I'm still following it. Then I had an endoscope done a week later. I didn't need a sleep study and stress test because I had them done already. July 17 I got called and said my insurance approved me and set up my surgery. Its going to be August 11. I'm so excited that my dream is coming true.
