Question:
I am 13 months post rny. Haven't lost l pound in the last month.

Is this it or is it possible I will lose more? I was 5'2" 230 lbs to start and now am 165. Just want to know others experiences. If I stay here, I can live with it. I look so much better than before. I just had hoped I would have ended up lower than this. — [Deactivated Member] (posted on December 4, 2003)

I also really thought I was done losing too - I had lost about 5 pounds in 6 months. Then I started doing this:

-flax hot cereal for breakfast (Low Carb Success) with 3 packets Splenda
-Nectar protein drinks for lunch
-Soy Milk Latte (8 oz. Unsweetened Soy Milk, 4 shots espresso - can be decaf, with SF syrup)
*you could have low fat meat and cheese, another Nectar drink or a small salad for dinner instead. (this is just what I like, and I have no appetite or care to eat, even at 20 months post-op.

I am doing about 500-600 calories/day.

I know it sounds severe, but you asked... and this has worked for me, when I really thought I was done.

good luck - shelli

Hiya, also just had my one year anniversary- I've lost 156 pounds- But in the past month I've been gaining and losing the same 2 pounds- I do believe the honeymoon is over for us- and we are not going to see the pounds melt off like the the beginning- I'm sure from this point out- what we lose is going to be from the good ol' fashioned way- Diet,exercise- If I don't lose another ounce- I will be perfectly happy (even tho I'd like to take off like 20 more) but my fear is not losing but GAINING- Ughhhh I hate that I must use willpower now LOL...best wishes Kim

They say it's 18 months of prime weight loss. You still have time.

Everybody's body is different and you are doing great. I was told by my surgeon that the closer you get to your goal the harder it may be to loose the last few pounds...So push the protien, drink plenty of water, exercise, and follow your diet plan. Good luck! Jaunine Jackson, MS

I quite losing weight at about 14 months. I started at about 365 and I hover at 182-185. I never really lost anymore weight from this point on. Honestly, I don't think I could have done anything differently in my eating; however, I could have started exercising earlier. I didn't start exercising until I was about 5.5 months out. Everyone is different, some people lose for many months and some people stop dead in their tracks at a year. Good luck to you!
