OT (Religious) WDYT? I wrote this for my Dad's funeral

 
I wrote this and am thinking of reading it at my Dad's Memorial Service

WDYT?

It's very religious on purpose, more for my mom but it came from my heart while I was parked on the side of the road scrawling it on napkins.  It says the important parts of how I feel, about love and him being in heaven now.  I wanted to keep it focused on the positive.

Also I am not sure if I will be able to read it.  I am practicing a lot thinking that way I will be able to read it without crying.  I am going to ask someone for back up in case I can't do it, they will be ready to read it for me

You are so much to so many
Husband to your wife, (name)
Father, grandfather, greatgrandfather

You are being missed by all of us
However, Jesus has his arms around you
You are sitting at God's throne

We've loved you for 79 years on earth
But by Jesus you are owned

The Apostle Paul reminds us not to worry about anything
But to pray for everything and we will be given
A peace that is beyond our own understanding

So today we Do pray
You listen as we sing our songs
You hear us as we pray for the Promised Peace

On this day we all remember
The love you have for us
& the love we have for you

We gather now to celebrate your inheritance
And to say in Unison
This is just the Beginning

I think that this is beautiful and your mom will love to hear it. make sure you laminate a copy and give it to she will treasure it always... I am so sorry for your loss sweetie... I know it hurts and trust me from experience it will get easier it is not just a cliche. but it does take a lot of time... If you need anything please let me know..

 I think it's lovely, because what greater comfort is there?  There is no greater inheritance than eternal life and believing we will all be together again one day!  I pray you find peace and comfort in the days, weeks, and months ahead.  

It's very beautiful, I hope you can get through it!  And, it's really okay if you cry!

It's wonderful, Loretta.  It reads straight from your heart, which is what your mom would want to hear.

It's a great plan to have back-up in case you need it, but don't be afraid to take your time with it.  

I'm sorry for your loss.  

I am neither Christian nor religious, but I think it's lovely.

what a great idea to laminate it - or if nothing else give your Mom a copy of your handwriting version for a keepsake! It will be treasured.

 
Loretta,  I choked up reading it.  Just beautiful....

((((hugs))))  I know it's a tough time for you....  

I lost my father 12 years ago and although I still miss him, the memories are happy and my heart is lighter now.  

Allow yourself time to grieve and heal.
