6 Years on the 12th.....

So, I can't believe it's really been 6 years since my DS!!!  It has been nothing less than life transforming. I have lost and maintained 120LBs.  I had no complications, and have been uber compliant.  I am religious about my vitamins and labs.  I don't go see my surgeon every year but try to go every other.  But he does see my labs each year. My labs are great and I have a great hematologist that stays on top of things.  I have been osteopenic/osteoporotic, though I do not believe it has been directly related to my DS, but more related to my post hysterectomy status.  I have that under control with yearly infusions and will have another bone density scan next year. I have had one iron infusion, but wasn't terribly anemic, but my doc wanted to stay on top of it.

I had a lower body lift in 2009 and have had one additional surgery last year. I thought my DS was transforming, but boy did my surgeon do an amazing job. I hope to have one more surgery next year to correct some loose skin just below my breasts and to have my breast implants removed (long story for another day).  I will be done with surgeries after that.

I eat most anything I want.  My food desires have changed since having DS.  I much more picky with what I choose even when choosing sweets.  Some things taste sweeter and saltier.  I also don't eat it if I don't like the taste. I would never have done that pre DS. I always go back to basics when I get within 5lbs of my desired weight.  My DS still works and recently have lost below my steady weight for some unknown reason, but I'll take it!!!!  Somedays I can eat alot and other days not so much. My appetitie is quite varied as well. Some days I have to make myself eat or drink protein drinks, cause I'm just not hungry.

Thanks to everyone on here that has been with me during my journey.  I think I answered all the questions that I had when i would come on this site prior to my DS.  I always always want to pay it forward...
