When is it ok to start swallowing capsules? I am on omprezal ( spelling is not correct) for reflux and have been pulling the capsules apart and sprinkling them on yogurt but it isn't the best tasting 😛😝

Just keep on moving

Not sure for capsules, it is best to ask your surgeon. I had my surgery on the 10th of June and they cleared me for pills just no capsules or gel tabs. Best of luck just to be safe i would ask you personal surgeon.

I started pills and capsules about three days after surgery with no issues.

I opened my capsules for 4 weeks until I could manage a big enough drink to get the pill down.

I've been taking my omeprazole capsules since a few days post-op.  What I cannot do, however, is take my bp pill, which is about the size of an M&M without cutting it, still.  It's more psychological than anything else.  Taking my pills has become a real event.

I had to crush everything for the first week, but after that I was all good, even with my vitamin tablets which are huge!

I think you should check with your doctor on what he recommends concerning taking capsules.  I think the size of the sleeve may affect the decision.  I was able to take capsules immediately, and had no problems with it.  But my sleeve was a 40 bougie, and my surgeon said it was ok to do so.

Best of luck with your weight loss journey.

excuse my stupidity...but does this mean that the M&M sized pills is just for the beginning? Not for life?  duh....I thought it was forever, but sounds like just until I can handle it.....is that correct?

Ask your doctor, but I took them about a week after surgery.

I started about 4-5 days after surgery. It probably depends on how quickly your healing is going and how big of drinks you are capable of taking?
