I'm 8 weeks out and just wondering when do you start feeling hunger again? Not that I want it to return but want to be prepared for it.

Mine returned around 6 or 7 months but its nothing like it was before and if it does every feel like it it makes me stop and think and so far it has been head hunger. When i am hungry I just feel a small hunger feeling. I am just about a year out now.

Honestly, mine never went away. Still trying to figure out it it's true hunger or stomach acid issues (I take a PPI and Gaviscon). Regardless, my hunger is less intense than it used to be pre-op.

The only time I feel even the twinge of being hungry is if I go more than 6 or 7 hours of not eating while awake.  At that it is not really that I feel hungry it is that I get jittery and just don't have any energy and lose focus.  That started around 6-7 months out.

I find that if I don't eat at regular intervals..say I get busy or have something to do and miss a snack/meal...I feel kinda ravenous...that's when I grab my frienemy CHEESE...( I'm having a real problem w/ cheese!!!)
I've been trying my best to Do 3 meals and 2 snacks...

Want to make cheese your friend, grab some wheat thins and some garlic and onion spreadable laughing cow cheese.  It is heaven and the cheese is only 35 calories a serving.  Your graph looks like you are doing well though.

Thanks I'm happy with my progress, however, THE CHEESE!! GGGRRRRR!!!
I was mindlessly eating HUNDREDS of calories...so mad at myself for that..thinking maybe that would have been another 1lb or 2 off...
Must try to get control of my compulsive self...holidays approaching and I'm filled with dread!

I'm 11 months out and still experience very little hunger. I'm incredibly grateful for that and I know this is not always the case.

I think that differences in surgical techniques between various surgeons is the reason that people experience such varying levels of hunger.  But that's a whole other thread.  Also, I think that focusing on dense protein (as opposed to cheese, etc.) and keeping carbs low cause hunger to stay at bay.

It's funny you wrote that about dense protein...my nemesis CHEESE ( BTW nothing fancy, just yellow American sliced deli cheese) has been a real issue for me..I tend to grab it w/o thinking when I get my new version of hungry.
I decided today after I posted, that I was going to cook up a barber foods mushroom Swiss stuffed chicken breast to have on hand when I feel that ravenous...
I can only eat 1/2 at a time and its 170 cal 6 g carb 22g protein
(For the whole thing!)
as opposed to the 100 calories for 1 piece of freakin' cheese LOL!
Hopefully this will tame my cheese beast!!
