Expose ourselves ...

How far out should we be before we expose ourselves, I mean take off our shirts and expose our incisions to the sun?  With or without sunscreen?

Definitely wait until they've faded a bit and are long since scabbed or crusty. When in doubt, ask your surgeon :)

You should definitely wait until I'm not around.

Once your scabs have all healed you can expose them to sun, but use sunscreen. Fresh scars will "tattoo" if you expose them to sunlight. Use sunscreen for at least 6 months, until they have turned silvery and start to fade.
