Need new snack ideas

I was sleeved back in April and have been on a regular diet for a couple weeks now.  I need some new, easy on-the-go snack options that don't need to be kept cool.  I have looked at some protein bars (I tried Life Choice mint chocolate and the peanut butter flavor but they had 20g of protein and tasted like it--ha!).  It is not convenient to take lunch meat, applesauce, cheese, etc with me everywhere I go and I am getting tired of the same ole snacks.  Any suggestions?

Tuna pouches are awesome - especially the tuna salad pouches that are already mixed up.  I take them in a little ziploc with a fork in my purse everywhere, just in case of emergency.

Jerky of all types is also a great option.

What snacks are the "same ole" that you've been using?  That might help us to come up with different ideas!

I haven't even thought about beef jerky, but that's a great idea!  So far my usual snacks have been lunch meat, cheese sticks, yogurts, unsweetened applesauce, fruit, etc.  Since I ate a lot of yogurt and applesauce while on the liquid and soft foods diet I am tired of those things (along with pudding and jello).  I love fruit, but I am still in the early phase and trying to focus on getting my 60-80 grams of protein in each day so I try not to eat too much fruit right now.  I am looking for things I can throw in my purse to have with me in case I am out running errands longer than expected or can easily take with me.  I probably need to try some different protein bars as they would make a great easy snack option--I just need to find one I like. :).

I will have to try those protein bars.  Have you found any others you like?

I use a lot of beef jerky as snacks. Great protein and comes in small easy to carry packs. I also use Atkins protein bars. Low sugar and fat and good protein. The best part is they taste good. I travel a lot too so I also carry the tuna packs that have everything in them. They are so easy to put together and are high in protein too. Those are just some of the things that I carry for snacks.

Hope it helps.

Almonds, packets of Justin's Almond Butter, boiled egg, Oscar Meyer P3 packages, I also carry around a foil packet of tuna. Quest bars are handy, although I would use those judiciously rather than regularly.

Thanks!  I had not heard of the Oscar Mayer P3 packs.  Those would be great when traveling.

I am so surprised that you can eat beef jerky after wls! My husband had a piece today and I mentioned that was probably something I could never have again. I am just now on full liquids and all I can see in my future is soft mushy foods.

You'll get there.  I'm just about 3 months out and don't have issues with any textures.

I try to take beef jerky, a pkg of peanuts, or protein bars with me at all times. So far i like the zone protein bars the best.
