How often did you eat early out?

One  week post op visit was yesterday. I had no complications, other than feeling very dizzy and ready to faint a few times. I was not dehydrated at all so he felt it was one the meds I am on. So, I am to keep him updated. I actually feel great overall!

One question I have is , he cleared me to eat at my own pace. Yes, I have a book and get the stages , and saw a cple of wonderful references to members websites for recipes which I'm going to use, but the book didn't really list how often or when to eat.

I know my sleeve is a liar! I know I am not hungry! I know to under eat my sleeve. These are a few things I want to live by since I have read them a lot before surgery.

But, right now I feel clueless when to eat! Do I eat at a normal time?

My Nut mentioned every 2hrs when I saw her clear back at my first visit in Jan. That is the only visit I saw her. I don't see her until 1 month out, so now I feel a liitle lost. Maybe, I misunderstood.

How often were you eating?

I try to stay on a fairly close schedule. I eat my breakfast around 8am, snack at around 1030, luch around 1230, snack at 3 and then dinner around 6pm. I also usually have a shake or snack before bedtime.

My snacks are usually smal, maybe a piece of string cheese or a small amoutn of cottage cheese. Something that is high in protein.

You should call the nutrtionist and get clarification. That's what they are there for it should of more clear.  Congrats on moving up in your diet. The weeks of liquid were awful and the only shakes I can drink now are the syntax nectar. Good luck

I ate/eat about every 3 hours when I'm awake. In the early months, I stayed pretty much on a schedule of 6 am, 9 am, noon, 3 pm, 6 pm then maybe a protein shake before bedtime. Whenever I'm not eating, I'm drinking and I still don't drink for 30 minutes after I eat. At times it felt like a full time job keeping hydrated and fed! ;)

On liquids, I grazed all day. Once I hit purees, I switched to three meals a day plus a shake. This has worked well for me!

Thank you all! This helps a lot and gives me an idea how to do it. I was beginning on the right track, but I just wanted to be sure! It just seemed I was constantly eating. I realize it's only a tiny bit, but still.

I do log everything so that makes a huge difference also.

My first post op visit will be mainly meeting with the NUT and going over what and how to eat. My doctor is very strict about eating only 3 meals a day.  I'm worried about how to get in all the necessary protein like that, but I guess that will be explained at my first post op visit.

I also got an amazing cookbook to use during the different stages!  I cannot wait to try some of the recipes.  Most of them even my husband will like!

Hope all the dizziness has subsided. and that you are feeling fit and thin!

I'm also a three meal a day person, and I have to have a protein shake once a day to meet my protein goals. My NUT and surgeon have approved this.  (So I eat three meals plus one shake.)
