Over eating?

It has been a while since I posted... Please forgive!

Am I over doing it?  Sometimes I can eat 6-8 oz at a time. Sometimes I feel true hunger, sometimes I know it's all in my head.  I do not give in the head hunger- eat protein if I am not sure.

Today I have had:

egg with deli ham and a slice of cheddar

2oz of ham, ounce of cheddar and an ounce of almonds.

later- quest bar and left over fajita's (chicken, steak, and shrimp) from last night.

what do you think?  THANK YOU!

IMHO you got to stop with the protein bars..

there nothing but high calorie crap!

otherwise looks ok to me

but I will re-iterate what the AWESOME Frisco

has said many...many times and what I follow (almost) religiously..

UNDER EAT YOUR SLEEVE!!,

just b/c you can eat 6-8oz doesn't mean you SHOULD!

Stick to 4oz NO MORE...

I would agree, cut out the "protein bars" --they are really just glorified candy bars. While having a fair amount of protein, they're not that great for you, and have too many calories in comparison to the amount of protein they're providing. And definitely don't eat just to feel full. Eat to fuel your body, and then stop before you're totally full.

You guys wouldn't eat a quest bar? My NUT is the person that recommended them. I have had one a day for several months- love that they have 21 grams of protein and low net carbs.  Now I am worried.

I have also never felt fullness except one time when I had too many black beans...

I eat 3 meals a day and each meal is 3.5 ounces of dense protein and about 3 to 4 ounces of low-carb veggies.  So I don't think that 6 to 8 ounces is too much, as long as you are choosing good foods. It is so easy to get too many calories even with small portions. Are you counting calories as well?  that would probably help answer your question.  I try to keep my calories around 1,000 a day.  I'm not losing weight very fast at that.

best of luck,

Carol

What Carol said.  I too eat about 3-4 ounces of dense protein per meal, plus about 1/4 cup of veggies.

I'm way too new to offer much advice, I can only suggest to slow it down whenever you do eat, the head might take awhile to realize that it's satisfied. I eat protein bars only to boost up my protein when I'm falling behind on my protein goals, and usually I just try to have 1, maybe 2 cuz it really is a tasty glorified candy bar, so I factor in the extra calories.

No one surgery is better than the other, what works for one may not work for another. T-Rebel
