Is 6 lbs. loss in a week normal?  Absolutely not - it's amazing!  I wasn't losing 6 lbs. a week after the first couple months.  I was lucky to lose 1.5-2 lbs. during the last few months of WL mode; I would be ecstatic with 1-1.5 lbs. per week at this point.

Not sure what you mean when you say you still can't have a lot of foods that you need for protein.....why not?  You're over 2 years out, right?  What seems to be the problem?  Do you have allergies to certain things?

6 lbs in a week ...I'd jump up and down !!! That's just about 1 lb a day 24 lbs a month That would be 288 lbs in 1 year!!! Sooooooooo ummmmm yea that is amazing!!!! :-)

I have 21 lbs to go so I'd be done with this journey of the loosing part in less then 4 weeks I'll take it!!!

We seem to be about the same as far as pounds to go to hit goal. I have never hit my goal since I started this. The lowest I've ever gotten was 174 and I was sick for like 4 days when that happened. After that I stayed around 180-185 and it just kept climbing over the 2 1/2 year.s

My goal before I leave for vacation to NY is to lose about 20 pounds and we leave at the end of August so if I can get close, I'll take that..

Desari you can do this .... I'm only 3 and 1/2 months out so I can't say really about 2 and 1/2 years out... but I'd say it's safe to assume going back to basics is the best way to go !!! make sure to just get in your dense protien and very low carbs drink only water and exercise exercise exercise and when your done exercise more....  you can do this you got it...

Btw where in Ny are you headed I'm from long island ny!! :-)

Best of luck!

Upstate NY here..Rochester area. I'm seriously thinking about moving back. I have my sisters here in Texas but I miss my cousin. We are really close and after going back the last 2 years makes it harder for me to leave each time I'm there..

What do you mean you're not losing???  You lost 6lbs. in one week.  Is this a joke?

Hey Stephanie - No, this is not a joke. I just wanted some feedback because I'm expecting to see the numbers I was getting when I first had the surgery and I can't seem to get that out of my head. I just wanted to know that if after all that time, is 6 pounds normal or not for someone as far out from surgery to drop...

I really appreciate all the good and positive comments I get here. I'm not looking for kudos so much as to if this a normal weight loss after this amount of time past surgery. I know 6 pounds doens't look like alot and I guess I want to see those type of numbers I was getting when I first had my surgery. I have totally cut out all breads, potatoes, pasta and rice - mostly because none of them like me anymore..LOL!

Just want to see if I was doing everything I was suppose to right...

Love you guys!!!

Um . . . although 20 pounds the first month post-op is not unusual, generally speaking 10 pounds a month is the average loss during the weight loss phase, so your 6 pounds in a week seems rather good to me. Don't be surprised if you stall the next couple weeks.

Just out of curiosity, what the H-E-double-toothpicks was your loss rate after surgery?
