Just hang in there - it WILL come off! We all have different metabolism rates but the key is that the scale is moving in the right direction! For years it was moving the other way for most of us. Step by step, day by day-each day just get healthier. A year from now-most of us will be happy where we are. We could not say that before!

First of all, you're not eating too much at 800 calories a day.  However, I don't believe for a moment you should up your calories to 1200 until you have lost ALL the weight you want to lose.   Look at the the mix of what you're eating:  are you doing 80 grams of protein a day and less than 40 grams of carb?  Those are the guidelines I followed during WL mode.

You absolutely must up your water intake - you've got to get it to at least 80 oz. per day.  That's how you flush all the fat out of your system - fat doesn't sweat out through your pores.

With exercise, you are doing GREAT with 10,000 steps per day - awesome!  Just know that if you increase your exercise you WILL ABSOLUTELY see the scale stall out.   Not because you aren't losing fat, but because your body will ALWAYS respond to extra activity by hanging onto water.  Sometimes for days, sometimes for weeks.   I'm not telling you that to discourage you from more exercise...just know that you'll need to track measurements instead of pounds on the scale during those first few weeks of heightened/increased intense exercise.

Stop beating yourself up - you're not the fastest loser and you're not the slowest loser.  You are losing at YOUR pace and will continue to lose.  You have done GREAT - keep it up!

Very low calories is not always the answer! If you are burning that many calories with exercise, your body will hold on to whatever it has and it will be harder to lose. Just my $.02.

I am 9 weeks post-op and I eat over 1000 calories a day on most days. Last week, I lost 4 pounds. I understand that I have a lot more weight to lose, and I will adjust things as I need to as my journey progresses, but I recommend you doing some research on nutrition and what your body needs to function. You can find calculators to figure your BMR, or you can have a dietician do a more specific test for it.

My plan also said 600-800 calories at that point, however there was no way I could eat that many.  I was probably getting in about 300-400 calories.  If I were you, I would cut back on calories at this point.  As for the 1200 calories, that is way to many calories.  I'm 9 months out and I eat about 800 - 900 calories a day.

I just had my one month appointment at my surgeons office and I was told it's totally normal to stall and that the minimum amount of calories I need to be eating is 800 I'm only getting about 300-400 so my pa wasn't happy about that, but I told her I was meeting with a dietitan to work on eating more. I've heard 1200 calories is for ppl in maintenance phase.
