nope, not a 50 shades of grey thread!

i don't remember being told in nutrition class, what's the preferred method for easing number twos? I'm just about to hit 4 weeks post op.

things are moving, but... Difficultly, and I don't want to jump straight to fiber as it makes sense that could be bad for a new sleeve (or not, I could be over thinking)

My wife and I use the generic Miralax. We mix it in our coffee since it has no taste, but it can be mixed with any liquid. It can take some adjusting on the dosages after you have gotten to what your "normal" is. My wife actually uses a half dose every other day . It is an issue most of us deal with after surgery.

Also try adding more fats to your diet.  It's required to keep the pipes slippery.

I've been eating avocado, but probably not often enough to have a good effect. Must try eat it more since it's one of those types of good fats with some protein.

I add a teaspoon of benefiber to my decaf coffee every morning.  I also take a stool softener everyday.  Its a challenge that is common after surgery.

Since my surgery I have been battling with constipation. I have not been regular for some time. I typically go once every five days. My dr put me on Amatiza (prescriotion stool softener) and colace. This is helping a bit but not 100%. When I used to go prior to Amatiza it would take me 30 minutes or more to finish taking care of business. I am getting in enough water and have also added fiber back into my diet. I am afraid to go outside of my house with the fear that I would have complications.

If I don't poop in the morning, I add a dose of miralax to my protein shake for the day.
